2010 Urban LandMark Conference

Speaker biography: Simbarashe Chereni

Simbarashe Chereni is a multi-disciplinary junior researcher interested in housing, urban regeneration, land and rural livelihoods, and natural resource governance. He holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Rural and Urban Planning from The University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Philosophy degree in Land and Agrarian Studies from the University of the Western Cape, and a graduate Certificate in Land Reform and Development. He is currently studying for a Master of Science degree in Rural and Urban Planning at the University of Zimbabwe. From January-August 2007 he was employed as a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Rural and Urban Planning at the University of Zimbabwe. Since February 2008, he has been a teaching assistant in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe.
