Speaker biography: Bea Drost

Bea is a policy analyst at the National Planning Commission Secretariat. She studied town and regional planning at the University of Pretoria (1994-1997), where she also completed her Masters degree (2004). Bea has been working on spatial planning matters in the Presidency for the past four years. Previously, she worked for the National Department of Housing (now Human Settlements) on human settlements policy. Before joining National Government, she did planning consulting work (at Africon Engineering, PlanPractice and Kempton Park Municipality) and worked as a research assistant at the Pretoria University - Department of Town and Regional Planning.
