Speaker biography: Elsa Soussan Burzynski

Elsa Burzynski is currently the International Programme trainee at the Building and Social Housing Foundation, a UK-based charity focusing on identifying, researching and disseminating international housing good practices. Prior to that, she conducted research for several non-governmental organisations, including Urban Landmark.

She holds a research MA in Social Anthropology (Universite Lumiere Lyon II, France), during which she conducted field research in Cameroon and South Africa, as well as an MSc in Urban Development Planning (University College London, UK). Recent research interests include transnational migrations, informal economy in urban Africa, urban regeneration in the South and participatory settlement upgrading.
