Funding

Urban LandMark was established in 2006 with funding support by UKaid from the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID).

The mandate from the UK aid has been to improve access to urban land for the poor in rapidly urbanising areas by catalysing change in urban land markets and governance systems.

About UK aid

The main objective of aid is to abolish the need for aid. That is why DFID is focused on long term development and wealth creation - to help unlock the great potential of Africa, its youth, natural resources, land and markets.
